The largest existing Communist nation, with the highest population i.e. 1.4 billion, to be precise; is also one of the most powerful economies in the world, China as a country, as a lot going for it and otherwise. The political regime has definitely had an enormous impact in regulating Chinese policies since its very inception. Decades of stagnation was overturned

At present, China has a GDP rate of $17.6 trillion, exhibiting agrowth of 7.4%. As of 2016, The Heritage Foundation states that China’s FDI Inflow rate is $128.5 billion. The country relies heavily on exports and imports and according to Trading Economics, in 2015-16 exports increased 11.5% amounting to USD 160.68 billion, beating market expectations of a 2.5% rise. However, these numbers are bound to fluctuate depending on how other countries perform. For instance, the EU Crisis deeply affected the Chinese economy, as it is a huge market for Chinese goods.

Companies make this move when they see a significant and potential market for trade; India, in this case.
